This walk investigates how the Rhodes family developed their Dalston estate, west of London Fields, into Hackney suburbia from 1807 into the 1870s. The walk focuses on the building process, the Rhodes family, the domestic architecture, the careers of some of the builders and details of some of the first inhabitants.
Duration: Allow for 2½ hours
Cost: £12 (£9 concessions) – pay on the day, card or cash.
Start: Dalston Lane entrance, Dalston Junction Station, London, E8 3DL at 11am
